EC & Kuala Terengganu By-Election

If you are Malaysian, or staying in Malaysia, you should have known there’s no other topic in the country’s political scene hotter than the Kuala Terengganu by-election.

The EC had announced the result few hours ago.

Here’s what budeen.com would have to say:

1. To the winner – Congratulation! It’s always nice to win. Please stop the celebration now & start working right away!! Serve the voters, show them you worth the seat! The real victory is when the people win their rights!

2. To the losers – You can still contribute to the community in your own way. So much can be offered to help the people. You might lose the seat, but still could pay back your supporters’ faith. Why not?

……………….

OK! We’ve cover that part plain & simple. Budeen.com would like to bring its fellow readers to another side of story. About the EC (Election Commision).. hehe! :D

Have you visited the EC Official Website? If not, you should!

It looks extremely dry. Here’s what I mean:

NUMBER ONE:  The welcome page gives you language option. Good! We’re given a choice to browse in our preferred tongue. Try choose Bahasa Inggeris. You’ll discover it is sooooooo English! see here!

NUMBER TWO:  ‘Latest Information’ column is still dated 18 March 2008. Wow! What an update! Thanks for bringing me the latest info! see here

NUMBER THREE:  Errr.. I’ve watched TV & read many reports from the internet. But I want to see the official result of the by-election from the Official Website of Election Commission of Malaysia. Alas! I can’t find it! Owh! It’s Saturday. I forgot that. You guys will surely update it on Monday rite? Sorry to bother you… :P

While various organizations offer web-based live update on the by-election, it’s a huge let down to see EC official website remains static.

Our leaders are promoting the concept of globalisation, borderless world, digital age, knowledge-economy, hub of excellence – the list can still goes on, and we still have this disappointing level of quality.

They obviously doesn’t live to their motto “Efficient and transparent”.

As a citizen, I’m very frustrated & disappointed… :(
