If you are Malaysian, or staying in Malaysia, you should have known there’s no other topic in the country’s political scene hotter than the Kuala Terengganu by-election.

The EC had announced the result few hours ago.

Here’s what budeen.com would have to say:

1. To the winner – Congratulation! It’s always nice to win. Please stop the celebration now & start working right away!! Serve the voters, show them you worth the seat! The real victory is when the people win their rights!

2. To the losers – You can still contribute to the community in your own way. So much can be offered to help the people. You might lose the seat, but still could pay back your supporters’ faith. Why not?

……………….

OK! We’ve cover that part plain & simple. Budeen.com would like to bring its fellow readers to another side of story. About the EC (Election Commision).. hehe! :D

Have you visited the EC Official Website? If not, you should!

It looks extremely dry. Here’s what I mean:

NUMBER ONE:  The welcome page gives you language option. Good! We’re given a choice to browse in our preferred tongue. Try choose Bahasa Inggeris. You’ll discover it is sooooooo English! see here!

NUMBER TWO:  ‘Latest Information’ column is still dated 18 March 2008. Wow! What an update! Thanks for bringing me the latest info! see here

NUMBER THREE:  Errr.. I’ve watched TV & read many reports from the internet. But I want to see the official result of the by-election from the Official Website of Election Commission of Malaysia. Alas! I can’t find it! Owh! It’s Saturday. I forgot that. You guys will surely update it on Monday rite? Sorry to bother you… :P

While various organizations offer web-based live update on the by-election, it’s a huge let down to see EC official website remains static.

Our leaders are promoting the concept of globalisation, borderless world, digital age, knowledge-economy, hub of excellence – the list can still goes on, and we still have this disappointing level of quality.

They obviously doesn’t live to their motto “Efficient and transparent”.

As a citizen, I’m very frustrated & disappointed… :(

If You Were Me, What Would You Do?

I was at a food court to order a meal. Loud and clear, I mentioned what I want. “Nasi goreng pattaya, NO sauce please..” The waitress nodded. She quickly jots down the details.

I repeated again just to be extra sure she got my order right. “Pattaya without sauce OK?”  The waitress repeated herself after me annoyingly, as if she’s so stupid not to understand what I’m saying.

She stepped away, I laid back and wait.

. . . . . . . . . .

10 minutes later, she served me nasi goreng pattaya WITH sauce!! When I argued, she said I didn’t mention it clear enough.

That’s not the end of it. She also suggested the meal won’t taste good without sauce.   #%@$?

If you were me, what would you do? Should i kill her?

How To React On Gaza Massacre?

1. Be ignorant - It isn’t blissful..

2. Shout out loud in anger – useless!

3. Blame US – hopeless!

4. Pray – helps, but something more ‘actual’ needed as to follow-up this ritual.

5. Demonstrate – the whole world is doing this at the moment. I doubt the effectiveness of this method, but what other ways can we do to express ourselves?

6. Donate money – helps. The victims desperately need our donations for urgent medical aid. I was thinking of listing few funds here, but on second thought, it would be better to leave it to you. Find a good organisation that can deliver to the needy effectively. I’ve found mine.

7. Boycott – helps. Can’t donate money? Fine, but stop funding the enemy! Join Boycott Israel campaign. It’s the least you can do.

8. Education – Learn and understand history. It has been manipulated for ages. Palestinians are said to be the ones who started the attack, but whose land was it at the first place? Tell this to our younger generations. Pass on the truth.

9. Blog it – show your concern. Tell the world that you care!

My 2nd Jr. Turned 1 Year..

Zayd turned 1 year last Saturday. He’s my 2nd junior. Many say he doesn’t carry my attributes. I’m not sure about that, but it certainly gives my wife the edge this time.

His other nick is ‘raksaksa comel’ (cute monster), given by his big sister. That’s because of his routine destroying ‘buildings’ or any lego structures we built. He usually wipes out everything before ‘Ultraman’ appears at the scene!

This rare personal entry was posted to ease the seriousness and grave look at budeen.com. OK! It looks more relaxed now. (is it? hmm..) :)
