iPhone 3G in Malaysia? YES!! It’s Official Now..

Malaysians are waiting for this moment to happen. :P

 

 

The Official Launching event will be held at KL Convention Centre on the 20th-22nd March 2009. It’s 1.5 weeks from now…

I go through the pricing at maxis website. It’s not attractive at all in my opinion. To get it really cheap (around RM260 for iPhone 3G 16GB) you must serve 24 months contract at RM375 per month. That’s a staggering RM9,000 in total!! 

 

I don’t know whether it will be carrier lock or not (most probably will). To me, the better option is to get factory unlock set from Singapore (easiest of all countries) and subscribe 3G data plan with the carrier of your choice (i mean Celcom here).. Here’s why:

1. Factory unlock – you can use with ANY SIM in the world

2. Take Celcom 3G data plan for greater coverage (as per MCMC report) and better price (unlimited only RM50/month)

…It’s waaaay more economical!!

 

Anyhow it’s just my opinion. Read the T&C. I’m sure there’s loophole like any other telcos before. Good luck!! ;)

    @ KampungBoy, aku ada lobang kalau ko nak.. tapi kena beli bulk (min 10 set) harga dlm 1.5k satu set.. negara mana punya aku tak sure lagi.. kalau nak detail email..
